Sustainability
As of January 1, 2008 Degens Quality Solutions B.V. is a CO2 neutral company. Since that date we are actively seeking to reduce our ecological footprint, resulting in the following actions/accomplishments:
| 1. | We actively seek opportunities to reduce our energy consumption (e.g. through obtaining less energy consuming computer equipment, applying the “new car driving methodology”, etc.) |
| 2. | All new copying and printing paper we buy is non chlorine bleached paper bearing the FSC (Forest Stewart Council) mark ensuring the protection of forests. Printing and copying is performed double sided as much as possible |
| 3. | We generate the energy we use in our office through the application of solar cells (as of mid 2009 we are fully providing our electrical energy needs through solar cells on our roof) |
| 4. | We achieve the heating of our office partially by means of a heat pump as of November 2009. |
| 5. | We compensate the remaining CO2 exhaust on a yearly basis through a certified CO2 compensation mechanism (Gold Standard) realized on behalf of Degens Quality Solutions B.V. by the company Climate Neutral Group, see http://www.climateneutralgroup.com/ |
